Never Too Early to Learn Gender Roles

Went over to main my main Leo J's today. While he horsed around, I worked on getting dinner ready. So typical!

Leo more than made up for it when he sung me the love song he wrote. It was called, "Brown Bear Brown Bear." Hmm, where have I heard that before?

Mad Hatter

As Leo J and I continued to play house, he never failed to find new ways to entertain me. Gotta tip my hat to him!

Which Knee? Oh, Disney!

Today we went to the Magic Kingdom. In the parking lot on the way in, I was so excited I could barely contain myself!

I just loved Main Street. All the people and buildings. I couldn't take my eyes off... my snack trap.

It's a Small World was pretty cool. They even had a pre-enactment of Uncle Noah and Almost-Aunt Sara's wedding!

Unfortunately, the ride was broken the day we were. There was something wrong with the record player. It kept playing the same song over and over and over. And sometimes in gibberish.

I felt right at home in this Ellie-phant.

Matt and Leo aren't as dumb-o as they look!

Daddy is always embarrassing me with his dancing and freestyling. He just has no shame... stilt, to this day!

Before we left, we tried for one more picture in front of the castle. This time we were all looking at the camera but the bozos we got to take the pic decided it was more important to get the whole castle in the frame then be able to see our faces. Another good nose picking wasted! Well, you know what they say... you can pick people to take pictures of you picking your nose but...

I Just Can't Get You Out of My Head

In a video that I'm sure no-one else has ever taken, here are the the first 2 and a half minutes of "It's a Small World." Too bad no-one ever showed Daddy how to do, "It's a Small Video."

Floored in Florida

Today, we went down to Orlando for a few days' vacation before Uncle Noah and Almost-Aunt Sara's wedding. We stayed at a timeshare with the Spiegels so I got some good QT with Leo J. According to my tally, this was date #18. At this point, we don't mess around with small talk. We headed straight for the bedroom....

..then decided we needed some more privacy...

We worked up quite an appetite so I called for take-out while Leo set up my crib...

I'm a Great Catch

Check out this video of Leo and me "catching" up on lost time. Highlights include Leo's "uh-oh spaghettios" and "bye Ellie."

Bathing Beauties

Here's another video. Leo and I are much better at washing each other than playing catch. This will definitely be one of the first posts I take down as soon as I'm old enough to do this blog on my own!

Zoom Zoom Golly Golly

Look familiar? We hit up Zoo Lights again this year. This time we swapped out the Campbells for the Spiegels and left Uncle D and Aunt T in Minneapolis where our weather probably would feel like a heat wave.

I tried my hand... er, eyes at the 3D glasses. Definitely a case of form over function.

Last time we tried to go to Zoo Lights with Leo J, it didn't quite pan out. Tonight was lucky date #13 for us though. We were able to weather the cold in our Zoot suits.

Big Ballers

Check out my armpit, er.. ball pit

Today was date #12 with Leo J (whom, I just learned is on Facebook so Brody better not get too comfortable in our relationship). We had a ball in his basement.

Over the weight limit by about 2 kids

Things got a little Furley when Henry joined us in the ball pit though.

Is that not the creepiest dead Elmo in the background?

We got tired of confining the mess to the Pack N Play so we set up a bowling alley. I'll spare you all the bowling puns. But I will say that, when it was time for clean up, we went on strike.

In A Category All His Own

Mine's bigger than yours!

Today was yet another official date with my man Leo J Spiegel. That makes 11! Rather than do this crazy linking thing every time we get together, I think Leo's deserves his own category on this blog. So I just set up Leo J to track all our posts (13 so far!). That makes it a 3-way tie with Doctor and Holidays.

Run like an antelope

We had fun playing at my house playing ring around the Gracie.

Roller derby, here we come!

Then we went to the park and got cozy on the slide.

Psyche!

Finally, Leo sacked up and moved in for the smooch. Poor guy whiffed. (DK needs to teach me that turn your head at the last minute to make a cheek kiss and mouth kiss trick!)

Mock Reading

Before we went to the park, Leo dazzled us with his "reading" of Polar Bear Polar Bear (the long-awaited sequel to Brown Bear Brown Bear).

Is It Me or Is It Worm Out Here?

enter attention diverter, stage left

At the end of the Wiggle Worm's set we met up with the Spiegels for what amounts to date number 10 with Leo J.

Why aren't you wearing arrgh-yle?!

We then walked over to the Taste of Chicago for some brontosaurus-sized turkey legs and a Wiggles show -- not to be confused with the Wiggle Worm singular. Turns out the Wiggles aren't worms either. They're pirates...

You must be beary warm in there!

And bears...

My, how many hands you have!

And octupi, oh my!

Nic-picking

Lefties have all the fun!

Today I went on date number 9 with Leo Spiegel. Once again, our parents chaperoned. Sheesh, what do they think's gonna happen?!? I can't even give proper hugs. We had good clean toddler fun, tossing a ball around before some fine dining...

Mmmm...CBA. You jealous, Auntie Em?

Meal and a Movie

Marns and Stripes Forever

Today was date number 8 with Leo J -- but who's counting? We had lunch at his parents house -- why are they always chaperoning us? Then we watched David After Dentist on YouTube. I hope I never have to go to the dentist -- although it does look kinda fun.

The Courtship Continues

We could pass for brother and sister

Today was date number 7 with Leo J. He may be over a year older than me but I'm almost as big as him.

Reach out and touch someone

Until now, Leo's been the perfect gentleman but, after seeing how my recent date with Tyler Schilt went down, Leo decided to stop taking it slow. It took some encouraging from his Mom and Dad but he finally worked up the courage to hold my hand.

Stay Puft

Marshmallow Gal

After playing at Leo's, the plan was to go to Lincoln Park zoo for zoo lights. Before facing the negative 20 below wind chill, we had to bundle up. This snowsuit is 18-months so I was swimming in it. We didn't make it far, though. After walking a few blocks we had to turn around cuz it was too darn cold. It was just as well, though... turns out zoo lights was closed on Christmas Eve. Poor Leo wasn't happy -- I left him freezing and crying at the end of the night. Date #7 goes down as a dud. As they say in Vegas, "Better luck." (And, after last weekend, his parents know all too well what I mean here.)
