Don't Do Anything Rash

Today was my scheduled 2 year doctor check up. Good thing too because I needed to have this rash looked at. Can you spot what mommy and daddy were worried about?

Here are my stats:

Weight 29 lbs.
Height 35 in.
Head circ. 19 in.

All 50-75% percentile

Sizing Up

One thing I won't miss is having to share my toys with these freeloaders!

I was wrong when I said a couple weeks ago that it would be the last time I saw my friend Lily and the rest of the playgroup that Karina organizes. That's what happens when I fall behind on the blog. Daddy's memory gets fuzzy and he has a hard time reminding me of the proper chronology. This is Karina's last week with us and so this is our swan song. We hopped on the couch for one final lineup. Lily and the others are quite a bit older than me but, as you can see, I measure up well. In fact, yesterday, I had my 18 month doctor appt. and my stats were 25 lbs. 9 oz. (70th percentile), 33.25 in. long (90th), and 18.25 in. head circumference (50th).

Casting Call

Well my Jewish new year is sure off to a rough start. We went to a park in Skokie with the Azulays and I fell off the jungle gym. It was a new park so I wasn't used to the layout and just fell backwards from about 5 feet up and landed on the wood chips with my elbow underneath my back. I cried for a long time but Mommy and Daddy didn't think anything was really wrong until dinner that night when I only used one arm. When they moved my other arm to put it on the table, I let out a scream that let them know something was out of whack. So they took me to the E.R...

I wonder if the X-Ray machine can remove red-eye?

By this point, it was a few hours past my bedtime. Couple that with the pain and I was not a happy Ellie. They suited up Daddy and me for some x-rays and...

Well this should ensure Daddy gets his wish and converts me to right-handed

Sure enough, my arm was broken. Small fracture in my elbow that should heal just fine but requires a cast nonetheless. The ER nurse made me a temporary cast until we can get an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon.

X-Rays, T-Rex, Oy-Vey

I took it all in stride and really didn't cry much once the x-rays were over. And I really like the dinosaur sling they gave me.

Looks like Daddy's wearing an oven mitt

All patched up. Can we go back home to our cast-le now?

Shot Like a Cannon

Hocus Focus

Today was my 15 month checkup. When they told me to strip down to my skivvies, I didn't think that meant my crocs too. Then it was time for my shots and I bolted outta there faster than Cousin Rob at Passover Seder.

Here are my stats: 24 lbs 6 oz Weight (75th percentile), 31.5" Length (75-90th), 18" Head (50th) And if you couldn't tell by the blur, I run a 4.4 40.

Scaling New Heights (and Weights)

What's up Doc?

Today I had my 12 month doctor check-up. Here are my stats: 22 lbs. 6 oz. (75th percentile), 31.25 in. long (90-95th), 17.75 head circum. (50th). Looks like I've been eating weigh too much sweet potatoes.

9 Months Old!

Nice of you to dress up for the occasion

Happy 9-month birthday to me! It was good to be back in my big brown birthday chair. Speaking of big, I'm already wearing my 12-month clothes. At my last doctor visit, I found out I'm 19 lbs. 8 ounces (which is 50-75th percentile) and 29 inches tall (90th percentile). I still have a small-ish noggin' (17 inches -- 25th percentile) but my proportions are definitely America's Next Top Model caliber.

Feeling a Little Green

Got any tortilla chips?

My new favorite food is avocado. I'm on a high fat, high protein diet. And it's paying off. At the doctor yesterday, I weighed in at 16 lbs 12.5 oz which is 50-75th percentile. I'm 90th percentile for height at 27.25 inches and 25th percentile for head circumference at 16.5". I hope I don't turn out looking like this guy from Beetlejuice...

I have a little head... ache.

Pea In a Pod

Am I looking a little green?

Here I am relaxing on (and blending into) Mommy and Daddy's bed. Went to the doctor earlier today for my (belated) 4 month checkup. Here are my stats:

13 lbs 9 oz, 50th percentile
25 1/2 inches, 90th percentile
Head 15 3/4 inches, 25th percentile

Looking back on my 2 month checkup, seems like I'm scaling up proportionately.

Jonah and the Whale

Hey, who you callin' a whale?

As you know, I'm big on my Bible references (remember Noah's arc?) -- Daddy's got my doing daf yomi (sorry, only my Uncles will know what that means). Here am I with my cousins Jonah and Andrea. Earlier today I went to the doctor and tipped the scales at 12 lbs. 3 oz. Might be time to rethink my aspirations of becoming America's Next Top Model. Maybe American Gladiators is more up my alley?

Shot in the Dark

Ellie post-shots

Went to the doctor for my 2 month check-up today. Weighed in at 10 pounds 2 ounces (25-50th percentile), 23 inches long (75th percentile), and my head measured 14 3/4 inches around (10-25th percentile). So I'm tall and skinny with a small head -- shaping up just right for America's Next Top Model.

The doc shot me up 4 times with various immunizations. I was NOT happy. After a couple hours of crankiness, Mommy dosed me up with some baby tylenol and I passed out on Bubbie. Not sure why she waited so long. Maybe she thought I'd just tough it out. That was a long shot.

1 Month Old!

Ellie at 1 Month!

Today was my 1 month birthday. Kinda weird to be celebrating monthly milestones again. Seems like forever ago we were doing the monthly countdown while Mommy was pregnant. Had my 4 week checkup at the doctor today. I'm up to 8 pounds 5 1/2 ounces. They measured me at 20 3/4 inches which means I've shrunk since my last appt. Whatevs! Everyone at the doctor's office has a different way of holding the tape measure. The important thing is I'm packing on the LB's. America's Next Top Model be damned -- a girl's gotta eat!

Thumb Sandwich

Daddy's Thumb in Ellie's Foot

I'm getting bigger... my feet is almost as big as Daddy's thumb now! Went to the doctor today for my 2 week check-up. Weighed in at 7 pounds even and 21 inches long.

We're Off the See the Wizard, er... Doctor!

Mommy, Daddy and me en route to the doc

Took my first car ride today. Mommy and Daddy got me all bundled up for the 2 minute drive to the doctor's office. Clocked in at 6 pounds 3 ounces. I've lost some weight but that's normal for a newborn. Besides, I need to keep this figure trim if I'm going to become America's Next Top Model!

BFP

Pee Stick

Today we got a BFP -- Big Fat Positive! Mommy and Daddy are soooo excited! But you can barely see that second line so for good measure we tested again...

BFP #2

Pee Stick #2

There's no misreading this one! I'm officially on my way. Watch out world, here comes Ellie!
