Monkeying Around with Miles

Hmmm, I wonder who's higher on the food chain?

Finally, the actual day of Halloween is here. Somehow, I managed to keep my costume clean this week. Miles came over for a little Trick or Treat. The Trick was actually keeping us on this chair long enough to snap a pic. And, of course, the pic itself is the treat.

Little Peanut

Only the most refined elephants in the jungle use bibs

Daddy and Mommy took me out to brunch in costume. Not sure why but I had a hankering for peanuts so I asked them to add them to my Tusk-an salad. I'll never forget this halloween. OK, I'm out of elephant puns.

Ellie-phant

Caption trunk-ated

Here's a sneak peek of my Halloween costume. Let's hope this elephant ain't afraid of it's shadow (or reflection)!

Mommy's little reptile

Mommy's tan is faded but we still look like Ivory and Ebony. Me, even more so today.

Safari, so goodi

Looks like no-one else got the memo that Bubbles class today was supposed to be dress up. Oh well, I'll just rock out with my trunk out.

Elephant on Parade

Here's a short clip from my Bubbles class. As always, I made myself the center of attention and when the music hit the crescendo, I stam-peed.

What's Cooking?

I'll have the mini egg rolls please

Denny and Jave came over for dinner tonight. Mommy prepared a freshly made Chinese menu.

I shoulda grabbed his tie and yanked

Dave was making me crazy, cradling me between his feet and not letting me have his blackberry or his beer! Forget waterboarding, the army should try this torture technique!

Parting Shot

Parting is such sweet sorrow

Athens custom dictates that all assembled (minus the father photog) must assemble for one final pic.

Stant-on the Place Where You Live

It takes more than a hammer and nails to make a house a home

Before heading back to the Columbus airport, we checked out Auntie Emmy's new pad on Stanton Ave. It's pretty rad. Can't wait to have sleepovers there.

Poppin' a Wheelie

That's actually just the roller for the car seat (which we checked)

At the airport I was very helpful wheeling my own luggage. Hey, wait, a minute, where's the luggage?

Park It

Why isn't it teeting or totting!?!

Today we hit up one of the parks near Grandma and Grandpa's house. Adam was a bit unclear on how the teeeter-totter worked.

Glad they're not extinct!

Grandma rode the dinosaur with me. I'd been really missing them ever since I got my cast off.

I shutter at the thought of it

I had fun playing house.

You must be this small to ride

This house ain't big enough for the 2 of us! No, really, Daddy. It ain't. Get out before you break it!

My casa is not your casa!

Sorry, no solicitors!

Tell me I'm not model material

My new Facebook profile pic. That really is a great camera, Adam!

Reminds me of the Scrubs character. Dr. Beard Facee

Adam chased me around for a while.

Just kidding, I laid down in the dirt all on my own (and on purpose)

It didn't end well.

Snooze Cruise

Wake me up when we get there

All that excitement at the park wore me out so I enjoyed a snooze while Grandma, Emmy, and Mommy went for a walk around the neighborhood.

La-Z Girl

Zoom-anity

One of my favorite things to do at Grandma and Grandpa's is laze around the house. OK, not really. That's really Mommy and Daddy's favorite thing to do in Athens. (Which, btw, is how they chose to spend their 5th wedding anniversary today. Boy, they really know how to party!) I, on the other hand, have to be constantly entertained. Thankfully, Emmy's boyfriend Adam was up to the task, letting me play with his fancy camera.

Who you callin' a blockhead?!?

Then Grandpa took over as he went to town on the blocks (literally, he created a town) and Gracie and I took turns knocking everything down.

So THAT'S how you eat those oreos!

My real favorite pastime is eating. And Auntie Emmy kept me well-satiated, er... sugared.

Reminds me of a bad racist joke... Why do black people have white fingernails? So they don't accidentally bite off the tips of their fingers when eating tootsie rolls

Luckily Daddy was occupied on his laptop, otherwise he would've put a stop to this. And by that, I mean he would've just told Emmy to give me the whole cookie!

Hungry Hungry Hippo

There better be more where that came from!

When it Nehrenz, it Pours!

Peek-a-boo Gabby!

We flew into Columbus today to meet up with the Nehrenz gang -- Geoff, Janelle, Grant, Gabrielle, and Julia. It was so great to see them again (and meet the rest of the clan). We played at the mall and went to Cheesecake Factory for lunch. We stopped to take a picture afterward but Gabby and I teamed up to thwart it. Not sure why Nel and Mommy posing for their own picture there in the corner.

Nailed it!

As Tyra would say on America's Next Top Model, we worked it out and came back with this fierce shot.

Don't let the door hit you in the arse

Gabby let us know when it was time to go.

Car-a-oke

Well technically I know parts of Old MacDonald and the ABC's but those don't really count

After QT with the Nehrenz fam, we drove down to Athens with Grandma and Auntie Em, or Emmy as I call her. Emmy kept me company in the backseat. We sang all the songs I know. Both of them. (Itsy Bitsy and Twinkle Twinkle.)

Balloon Girl

Who buys balloons at a pet store?!?

I'm getting sick of that Heene kid getting all the attention. So I had Auntie Em get me a balloon of my own.

Ballooner eclipse

From that point out, I didn't let that balloon out of my grasp.

The sky, er... the ceiling's the limit

Until we got to Grandma and Grandpa's, that is. Thankfully, they have low ceilings.

Toast-y

Mmmm, I just love forest green!

Met up with Cousin Rachel today and went for a bite at Toast... a bite of crayon that is!

Only in Chicago, well the Midwest

I was tempted to order the muffin tops.

Cue the evil laugh

(I'm bad, I know.)

Zip it

Afterward, we walked off the meal.

Here kitty kitty

I had to be prodded along though as food coma began to set in.

Cast-off

C

Hooray! Today's the day I finally get my cast off.

I'm going to miss my pink arm accessory

Look at how many people signed my cast. It's like an entire arm-y!

Cast-away

Now that it's off, you'd think I'd be happier. I guess you could say it had become quite attached to me.

Joining the IRL

We can tell our grandkids we met on BabyCenter!

No, I'm not getting into car racing. IRL is web lingo for In Real Life. And this was an IRL encounter with one of Mommy's friends from the Baby Center board, Elizabeth, and her son, Camden. It didn't take long for us to get comfortable swinging together!

Future Abercombie models

Camden is a little more well-versed in the art of the pose.

You are getting verrry sleeepy

I showed Camden my blurry face.

Mommy wouldn't let daddy make and O-face joke here

Then Camden showed me his surprised face.

Color me grumpy

After the park, we went to this cool new place in Roscoe Village called Family Grounds Cafe. They have a playroom for kids to run around while Joe Mamma sips coffee.

Need nap... or caffeine

We got in one parting shot before melt-down ensued. See you on the board!

Plump-kin

For the second year in a row, we went to County Line Orchard in Hobart, IN for some apple picking and assorted fall-ery. Just like last year, I dove into the pumpkin box to give daddy some slideshow fodder. This time around though, I filled up the frame a bit more.

Apple Pickin' Good

Apple orchard? I thought this was a rock farm!

In the orchard, Mommy and I searched high and low (well, I mostly searched low) for the best apples. Our favorite is honey crisp.

Hmm, what can I use to stifle this yawn?

I couldn't wait to sample the merchandise.

Is it half-eaten or half-whole?

I wonder what the return policy is here?

Like a pig ready to be roasted on the spit

Oh well, I guess I'm stuck with it.

Romp in the Hay

The goat wants my feed baaaaaadly

After working up an appetite, we went over to the petting zoo. Not sure why I was so scared of this goat. I should be used to overgrown soul-patches by now.

Deere in headlights

I'm well-versed on how to operate John Deere equipment thanks to the Hannukah present Grandma and Grandpa gave me last year.

Hey, this is fun! Hey, hay is for horses!

Daddy and I had fun horsing around.

I love this jacket because my cast blends right in

Don't make any hay-sty moves with that arm Mommy!

Something about being here makes me crave meat on a stick!

Why is it so hard to tell the locals from the livestock around here?
