Mag Mile

Mommy's into her Self and I'm into her People

Mommy and I like to hang out on the couch and read our magazines. You know how this ends.

10 Months Old!

How big is Ellie?

I'm really starting to fill up this chair. It won't be long before I can hold the sign myself. And then it won't be long before I can make the sign myself. And then it won't be long before I can take the picture myself. And then I won't need my parents anymore!

I Can See (for) Miles and Miles

Pass the shimmy, er... smile.

I've been hanging out a lot lately with my new boyfriend Miles. He lives 2 doors down from me so it's easy to have spontaneous playdates (ie, we don't have to go the extra mile).

Miles is all smiles

Girls will be Girls

Tonight I met my new friend Luca Jane Bombacino. We had fun hanging out on her brown chair (see, I'm not the only who has one). It was really a gas!

Luca the Draw

Luck be a Luca tonight!

Amazingly, Daddy got a pic with us both looking at the camera and smiling (sorta!)

So that's what the top of Daddy's head looks like!

Luca's dad Tony tried holding me for a little while to see what it's like having a big girl in your arms but I wasn't having it. I might be a little scared of heights. 6"7' is a long ways off the ground!

Grandpa's Future Bowling Buddy

I don't roll on Shabbos

Not sure if you've noticed, but I added a list of "Things I'm Looking Forward To" on the right hand rail of my blog. One of those is "Bowling with Zayde." Unfortunately, this shirt didn't come in Yiddish.

Oscar? I Don't Even Know Her!

Hold still? You first, Mommy!

Today my friend Oscar from playgroup had his first birthday party. Don't let the blur fool you -- it wasn't a kegger or anything. Daddy left his camera at home (that's a first!) so Mommy had to use her new blackberry to take pics.

What's the weather today? Rain, dear.

I broke out another fab outfit from Josh and Katie for the occasion. These overalls have a little reindeer attached to the front pocket. I used it to lure the birthday boy into my trap. He was blitzen, er... smitten.

These tights are tiiiight

Once the hats came out, the party was officially on and on til the break of... 6pm.

Clap Your Hands Say "Yay"

I've started clapping on command. If you're happy and you know it...

Bubbie and Spooky

All Smiles

Bubbie and Zayde came to visit today. As always, they fought over who got to hold me and play with me. As you can see, Zayde took full advantage of his precious few minutes. We had a real scream.

All Spooks

Shawn of the Dead

It's not polite to point Shawn

Finally got to meet my Dirty Uncle Reigs (of Look2U fame) today. We had fun playing and pointing. Recognize that quilt in front of us? Shawn got that for Mom and Dad as a wedding gift. It's one-of-a-kind from the Amish/Mennonite community in Ohio. I hope I get to visit Amish Paradise some day.

I Just Wanna Bang on the Drum All Day

Daddy's been teaching me to play the bongos. Not sure where I picked up the jazz percussion technique with the beat and slide across the skin -- that's a true Ellie original. I seem to be favoring my right hand so Daddy's call that I'm a lefty might not be right.

Hail to the Orange, Hail to the Blue

I-L-L...

Hail (Daddy's and Grandpa's and Grandma's and Great-Uncle Gary's) Alma Mater. Ever So True. We Love No Other... (or do we?)

...I-N-I!

Anyone Got a Light?

Come on baby, light my zoo

Today, we went to Zoo Lights at Lincoln Park Zoo with my girlfriend, Kate, and her parents, Jeff and Caroline. Uncle D and almost-Aunt T came along too.

Don't drop her Jeff!

You might say, it was an enlightening experience.

You look even shorter from up here Uncle D!

Uncle D made sure I had a good view. Reminds me of a joke (pretty sure Great-Uncle Denny first told me this one)... a blind man walks into a store with his seeing eye dog and makes his way to the middle of the aisle. Suddenly, he grabs his dog by the tail and starts waving it around like a lasso. Immediately a clerk rushes over and says, "Excuse me sir, what are you doing? Is there a problem?" "Nope," says the blind man, "I'm just having a look around."

That explains it.

The Ape house was very educational. I learned about the Homo Erectus.

You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours

I also learned how babies were made.

Where's the Hannukah bush?

Daddy and Jeff were kind of matchy matchy with their black coats and YouTube hats.

Are we having fun yet?

Kate and I were also matchy matchy with our 18 layers and red noses.

Wide Open Spaces

What!?! No Baby Einstein?!?

Lately, I've been getting into all sorts of new music and movies... literally. Today it's the Dixie Chicks Shut Up and Sing DVD.

That blad spot's coming in nicely!

Now that I'm crawling around, Mommy and Daddy might want to think about babyproofing these, ahem, Wide Open Spaces.

How can you be mad at a face like this?

Busted!
